Top 10 Cologne & Best Smelling Fragrances For Men
Researching this article was a puzzling experience. I am accustomed, as are most of us, to those political polls that so often accurately predict election outcomes. I anticipated finding a clear-cut top ten in the world of cologne. However, as the following 4 top 10 lists shown demonstrate, there is less of a consensus on fragrance, than on whom the next President of the United States of America will be.
There are certain fragrances that appear in two or more lists but not necessarily in the same order of preference. For example, Touch for Men by Burberry is in 3 lists, last place in List #’s 1 and 2, but 7th place in list # 4.
Perhaps this exercise gives us some insight into why there are more than 30,000 fragrances on the market today. Individual taste varies widely, but it is fascinating to me that in the world of music, a generally agreed upon top 10 list can be achieved!
Also amazing, at least to me, are the complete absence of certain fragrances. Who would have thought that Aramis, Curve, Drakkar, Opium and Stetson would be no shows in 4 of 4 top ten lists?
I am humbled. I can provide no rationale, no explanation for the results shown here. Wait! Perhaps that is the explanation! There is nothing rational about our preference for a fragrance. Maybe this preference is as individual as our personalities, our life experiences and unique memories.
I will leave it to you, the reader, to ponder.
